The Police model is about 2x the price of the Endura. What makes the Police so much more expensive? One is geared toward social situations, and the other a utility folder. But aren't they roughly the same size?

I realize both are very popular models - I'd like to get one, but which do you recommend? Just looking for a utility folder, mainly. Also, what handle material is best?

Good answer bud! ;)

Save your $$$ and go for the Police model!

If you do get it let me know what you think of it compared to the 806D2?

I would go with Endura because it is more versatile cutting (utility) tool. Police seems to be pretty far optimized for stabbing and luckily this is the thing I don’t do with my knives too frequently.
In fact I would go with Endura for outdoors and around household use only, it is somewhat onto big (although slim and lightweight) side for daily carry in urban environment. Could cause redundant sensations even being drawn for clearly visible and peaceful tasks...
As for my needs and likings Delica is more than enough for urban carry.

Keep in mind that the blade of the Police model is slightly over 4 inches, which COULD get you into trouble if where you are has a 4 inch or under blade limit, where the Endura has a 4 inch (or slightly under) blade-length.

I live in Texas where you can buy a gun with no background check, so blade length is not an issue.

Technically, blade length isn't a problem unless it's over 5 1/2 inches. I've got a Delica most times, altho I am planning on moving up to a Police, too! Also, don't confuse "urban carry" with "suburban carry". Where I live, I've had a cop tell me HE wouldn't be in my neighborhood without a gun, and at that moment I had with me a Delica that I showed him.

I agree with Serg that the Endura is more versatile in certain respects. I've had one for years and it has served me well. I also like the design of the Police but it's bit too big for me so I found a Rookie (same design just smaller)and I think it's an outstanding knife. Either way, you won't go wrong.

I picked up both the Police and the Endura at the gunshow yesterday. The Police had G10 scales and SS liner, with the blade being ATS-55. Definately...the Police! But I preferred VG-10, and they didn't have that, so I didn't buy. :(
