I have a Spyderco endura and I'm really starting to like it but I just traded for a BM 940. So my question is what is the difference in size, weight ect. Do they have anything in common? Thanks for all replies!

P.S. I didn't trade my endura for the 940 I just want to compare the 2 of them

I have both in my hand some quick points, an edura wave and the s30v 940

BM 80 grams

Endura 102.9 grams

very similar blade length but the Endura has a lot more metal and a bigger choil and a lot bigger handle. I think the locking mechanism on the BM can hold more but the endura doesn't have any weak points like the omega springs.

BM more gentlemen and the endura more of a worker knife.

Also the blade retention on the endura when closed blows the BM out of the water.

I find the BM tends to be more smooth opening and closing. I find the endura a lot easier to put and edge on it due to the metal and geometry of the blade but not an expert on sharping either. S30v does seem to hold what ever edge i put on it longer though. Also th eblade opn th endura has a lot more of a bell and ht e BM is much more straight.

I find the endura a much more useful knife but the BM is more slick and can be worn with a suit and is more fun to play with.

If you have any other more speicific questions feel free to ask.

He summed it up best. Similar blade lengths, but 940 is more expensive and a slicker knife, and the endura is more of a beater knife (though the 940 can endure hard use too)

I have a dozen 940/943 Benchmades and have never had a problem with the omega springs or unwanted lock release. I like the pointier tip of the 943. My EDC is a 941-81 Ti with a Stamascus blade. I put a ZDP-189 blade in a G-10 Endura handle (forest green). It looks good and works well, but it hasn't displaced my EDC. The Endura is not as much fun to play with.
