I was looking into some cheaper knives because I am on a bit of a budget right now and I'm looking for a new EDC. I'm trying to get the most for the money, and I think that the Endura is what I'm looking for. If you own one could you give me details about the quality, and I'm open for any other suggestions.

They're great knives, but I prefer the Byrd Cara Cara over it for the choil, better ergonomics and wider variety of scale options. Either way you'll get an excellent knife that'll last years.

I love the only byrd knife I have now (meadowlark) and thought about getting a cara cara over the endura as well. However, I really like the wave version so its a tough choice for me. Like you said though a variety of scale options may end up making my decision.

I have carried a spydie delica and endura every day for the past 8 years or so. They are awesome cutters. I like the newer versions slighly better. They are usually labelled with a 4 or IV in catalogues. They have VG10 steel which is an excellent steel, that means it holds a fine razor edge for a long time. Last year I upgraded and bought the Delica 4. I only sharpened it 2 or 3 times that whole year and that is everyday carry everyday utility cutting.

Plus, if they get lost your blood pressure won't sky rocket.

The Endura is one of my favorite folders. It's inexpensive, in VG10, and is backed by the Spyderco warranty.

If I were you, I would definitely go for the waved version. You can have your knife open and ready faster than an auto, and it also works as a bottle opener.

If your budget is really tight though, you should definitely look into the Byrd line. Like the others have said, the Cara Cara G10 is the same size as the Endura and has solid G10 scales. It'll only run you around $25 for a good quality folder.

Another vote for the Cara Cara. I don't have an Endura, but I do have a Delica. I love my Delica, but I can't see where the extra money went over my Cara Cara. The Cara Cara is rock solid with remarkably tight fit and finish. It flicks open beautifully, then locks up with no play at all. The byrd steel holds a hair popping edge very well. Given that you can get a Cara Cara for $25, I can't imagine the Endura's twice as good.
