Spyderco does not have a factory in Japan. They have several makers there with who build knives for them as well as for other knife companies. Those makers are concentrated around Seki, which is several hundred miles south and west from the worst of the devastation, but am sure they have felt the effects, and probably will for quite a while. It's also very possible that some the folks who work there may have family, friends, or both in the north.
