Vacationing in Colorado this week and was in Golden for a few days. Had to stop by the factory store to check it out. The wife was all for it since I got her a pink Native for Valentines day. She thought we should get our son his first knife; I didn't even bring it up.:). Ended up getting him a little Byrd knife which fits him good and the price was cool. I showed her the Manix2 in all black and said that would be a cool Fathers Day gift. I guess we'll see in a few more days.
 
Did you have them sharpen one for you? It's pretty nice that they let us come in and handel whatever then sharpen your knife for free. I agree about the Byrd line, I got one for my dad and one for my father in law for fathers day.
 
I saw their sharpening area....very cool. I didn't ask them to sharpen what I had on me; it was a ZT 551 and I thought it might be a little disrespectful. Plus, it's pretty sharp anyway.
 
I just got my son a byrd also. My wife ordered me my first sprint run knife for fathers day, its the blue ambitious.
 
Sorry...let me clarify a bit. I gave her the Native for last Valentines Day and she absolutely loved it. It was my way of weaning her into my knife addiction.

I am lucky enough to vist the spyderco factory outlet frequently, it is a wonderful place, just wish I could get out of there without buying something just once. Good luck on getting that Manix for fathers day.
 
The factory sale in the fall is the way to go.

Hopefully I can get one of my Colorado friends to go for me again this year.
