I have been talking a lot lately about Spyderco fakes and knock offs. I know that it frowned upon to post links to other sites so I guess this is a question for mods. Are we allowed to post links if it is to inform or educate people to fakes being sold on other sites and auction sites? Thanks for your help.

I'd guess deal spotting only applies when the intent is to make viewers buy the item or to point them to a desirable item. But that's just me. :D

I would think so as well but I don't need one of those colored squares (infraction) in my life so thought I'd pose the question.

There is a feedback area on this forum where something like this could be mentioned, but I personally would like to see a sticky at the top of the Spyderco section that listed where fakes are found. Hopefully a mod will approve this.

Start a thread in this forum and title it the "Spyderco Fakes & Knock Offs Info" and I will be glad to sticky it. Anyone who has info on fakes and knock offs can post in one thread. This may also be a benefit to first time Spyderco buyers who may otherwise not know the difference.

Great idea.

Ken a lot of the ones I run across are live auctions on Ebay and someone mentioned we cannot post live auctions is that correct? If so it would be kind of like the cart after the horse but I guess it would still serve as an educational tool even after the fact. Just let me know for sure the rules as I do not want to do anything that is not allowed. Thanks for letting us sticky a thread. Must appreciated!!

If it is for information only and it comes with a knock-off or fake warning I think it will be OK but let me consult with the other Supers on this before we go ahead with it.

Thanks to Liveitloud, Ken, and the other SuperMods. This should help new folks get the real deal.
