Hello BF,

I have had this Spyderco Fire Byrd knife in my collection for a while now. I just dont know much about this knife. Im not the original owner, i bought it used, and i don't have the original packaging.

Does anyone know what year they were produced?
How many were made?
How much they are worth?
Im interested in any spec / history of this Byrd knife.

Thank you in advance for your input!

Not a Byrd expert, but I'd guess it first came out in 2006 based on the first references to the Firebyrd being in the 2006 Byrd Catalog and a 2006 Byrd Flyer. It doesn't appear in the 2010 catalog, so I'd assume it was discontinued in 2009 when its MSRP was $22. Production was likely in the high 4 to low 5 figure range. Vaguely recall the packaging being a clam pack. No idea of current value, not even sure if there's anyone who collects Byrds.

Thats cool seeing the flyer for it! I didnt realize that many were made. I was kinda hoping they were a little more scarce. I appreciate the info!

I see a few completed auctions on that site and none on my search went for over $60.
Not too bad for a $22 item but I would have thought it would fetch a few more bucks.

I remember picking one up for like 15.00 at the factory. (Probably since I had only pennies to my name at the time, and it's all I could afford.) I do miss the "cool" factor it had. Unfortunately the security guard at mile high stadium did not see the need for me to continue ownership, and relieved me of it...

Use it and abuse it, who knows when you need to cauterize a knife wound while still cutting.....
