Spyderco Fixed Blade in Tactical Knives Magazine

While waiting for the train last night, I stopped by a news stand to check out some magazines. I noticed the cover of Tactical Knives magazine had a rather nifty looking fixed blade. Then I noticed the Spyderco logo and name on the blade.

Didn't really get much of a chance to look at it since my train was ready to leave but I'm looking for more information on it. Might have to buy the magazine just to read more about it but I'm wondering if anyone here knows when it'll be available. I don't even know the name of this knife yet.

Do a search on this Forum or on the Spyderco.com Forum for the name Hossom. You'll get all the information that's available on the upcoming collaboration between Jerry Hossom and Spyderco.

Those Hossom design models do look badass. One note about that article in TK: it mainly talks about the Kumo and the Temperance. The Hossoms are discussed more briefly in a sidebar.

Yeah, I ended up buying the magazine for more info. I guess I know what I want for Christmas now. :)

although nothing wrong with the kumo or temperance

nope, nothing at all you're right.

Wait till you hold a Hossum handle while wondering "who dreams of grindlines like these."

I am so glad that Spyderco is doing the collaboration. The quality will be best of breed.

Anyone else annoyed with the article's glaring omission of the Ronin? It certainly holds a strong place in my mind as Spyderco's best fixed blade. No other production company I'm aware of offers anything quite like it.

EOJK, there was an article in TK on the Ronin a year or two back.

I thought it was weird that they now featured the Temperance, which I thought was at the end of it's production.

PICS WE NEED PICS!!!!!!!!!!

At least in recent years, IMHO Spyderco has been lacking in the FB department. I like the offerings, including the Moran models, the Kumo, the Vagabond, but not as much diversity as the folder lineup.

Just saw the cover pics in the other thread, very nice pieces. Spyderco choppers  .

I don't know why, but those Spydie-Moran blades look like Kershaw designs to me. They seem to be a bit outside of the established Spyderco aesthetic.

Just found this linked in the Spyderco forum...

The Ronin was discontinued a while ago.

Holy shit I like the look of those Hossoms.

I don't hear about either the Temperance or the Kumo on the forums ... I wish there were more reviews of both in comparison to the more popular models from other companies, like the BM Nimravus, so there could be some real performance comparisons.
