Hi I whitewater kayak and was lookin for some recommendations for a good Spyderco folder. I figured a full SE one but just seeing what peope thoughts thanks !

Well something in H1 ....I would go with a fixed blade called the enuff in H1 having been a whitewater guide a sheepsfoot fixed blade worked much better IMO. But others will come along and give you different ideas ....hope I helped!

The reason I say fixed blade is due to the ease of use in an emergency. You don't got to open it you can attatchet to your life vest and if your snagged underwater or need to cut a rope quick it's just a simple grab and tada your ready to go! This is just my opinion and observations from my experience and others !

Wow good call on the Enuff in H1! That's perfect! I agree fixed blade would be best in an emergency good call on the as well. I'm just a fan of Spyderco folders and love the SE but safety first, I'll probbaly go with the Enuff

Glad I could help! Having done what you do i realized real quick a sheepsfoot fixed blade is the only way to gland I've seen them for sale for 100$ you maybe able to find them cheaper. But it's the way to go trust me!

I think, the sheepfoot blades is the best choice for the kayaking. Pointy blade tip may be dangerous on the unstable boat or kayak.

This is what I would have recommended. But my second choice is a Dragonfly Salt SE. It is light and you can clip it in your shorts. Maybe it would be my first choice. I have not been whitewater rafting, but I have been whitewater canoeing. What I wanted was something close to hand that would cut me out of rope, debris, and etc. if I capsized (not If!). But the fixed blade is something you do not have to worry about dropping why trying to open and it does not have a sharp point for you to puncture anything important.
