I have one of the smaller Holsum Dayhikers that I like a lot. The steel seems to be pretty tough, and takes a bit longer to sharpen than some others, but then holds the edge quite well. The smaller knife balances really well in my hand, and the handle is large enough for my mitts (not always the case with some knifes). Typically good Spyderco F&F. :thumbup:Anyone have any experience with this knife or the steel that comprises its blade (N690CO).
Most definetly! That's what I bought mine for and it has not disapointed me. Its no "splitting wedge", but IMO is is plenty robust for heavy duty use, while still being handy for more usual cutting chores.Suitable for wilderness knife?
No offence to New Graham, but I've seen them for much less than that. With a bit of shopping I don't think you should need to spend more than $170-180 for the Forester on-line.Looks an ok knife but at a hell of a price eh !!!!
