One of these just popped up somewhere in the vastness of the interweb.

I've never heard of this model. Anyone have info on it?

Here's a very classy pic I snagged. Gotta love the gritty atmosphere of the mattress backdrop.

As far as I remember, the handles are made of Bio-Blu. I could be off base though. They were supposed to be distributed only to Carpenter employees IIRC.

First to Carpenter's employees, then release to the public I believe.

These won't have Bio-Blue handles unfortunately. It's too hard to make perfectly flat for the handle scales. I want one, but the MSRP is $349.95! A little steep for me.

Just to be accurate - NONE of the production C-160s will have BioBlue handles - including the ones provided to Carpenter employees. There was some confusion on eBay recently when a Carpenter employee sold a couple of them. These employee-versions have the standard stainless scales - according to Spyderco.

Its a shame because it takes away from the uniqueness of these knives - but production problems are certainly understandable with interesting new alloys like BioBlue.

What is BIO BLU guys? Is it a form of titanium. I am not finding much on it.

look up bioblu27 ,has cobalt, chromium and molybdenum very pure used for bio-valves

I just got an email from Knifeworks saying it's ready to ship with a tracking number.

I was kind of surprised to see one of my old threads come back to life. Just to clarify, the Foundry I was wondering about was the original version that featured BioBlu 27 alloy scales. Although it is certainly nice to see the Foundry finally go into production.

According to BladeHQ the handle is only 0.33" thick...I hope that's not true, I prefer thicker handles. But it is quite attractive to me, I like the blade shape.

saw the retail production runs for sale and debating getting one ... while I like the blade shape and the blade steel, I can't quite get over the Carpenter logo on the handle - or rather, the Comedy Central logo. if Spyderco were to put one out in colored G10 or an attractive CF pattern I'd definitely consider it.

^ I agree.

I would love to carry this with CF pattern on it or atleast no logo. Blade design is great.
