This knife is being developed in conjunction with the Carpenter company to use 100% Carpenter materials. What do you guys and gals know about this knife? This only thing that I know it that is a possible 2013 release. Will it be available to everyone or just Carpenter Employees?
Thanks,

I believe I saw a concept picture of it sometime ago. It's had a page on BladeHQ for a long time now, just a generic pic up on there though. I heard the employees get dibs, but they'll also make more for the public. Is this project still active though? Haven't heard a word about it since earlier last year.

I'm interested to see what material Sal ends up using on the scales. The Bio-Blue alloy is a cobalt/chromium alloy used for medical implants and jewelry. It is supposed to be highly scratch resistant, which makes sense for something like a hip joint. However, Sal said it would be prohibitively expensive to release on a commercial version of the knife.

This means that he'll probably go with stainless or titanium scales - or maybe a titanium/G-10 or titanium/CF combo. Any one of these (except for the plain SS scales) would be good in my book.

I am waiting for this as well, it was supposed to be out in 2012. The Bio-Blue handled ones are for the Carpenter steel employees, regular production was to be stainless handles.

Blade shape reminds me of Ontario Rat 1.

That's exactly what I thought too.

Looks like an interesting knife. The clip looks "off" to me somehow. Maybe it's the angle or where it's located. I'm not sure what it is.

I'm def in. I remember looking at these pics a while back, and forgot this was on the "gotta have it " list

Fan of the blade shape and hope they keep the accents on the lockbar cutout. Interesting touch, I like it!
