OK, we have a new one on the block and its name is the Foundry. I bought one and "I love it!". Razor sharp, super slim and sleek. What else could you want. At first I was a bit upset because I thought, and still do, that it should have titanium scales, but after reading the knives history and what it is supposed to mean, I get it. Its a thank you to every carpenter in the United States and world for that matter. So they used two types of carpenter steel and came up with a winner in my books.
I love the blade shape. Its perfect, but what saved it, and it sounds silly, is the jimping. Without the jimping there would not be enough grip and with it, it is perfect. The design on the showside is growing on me and I love the pocket clip as well. All in all a winner for sure. Especially when I just want a slim knife that can go in anything. Not a thick, or even semi-thick ed. Its more like stealth mode. I really love it and would highly recommend it. Especially with a lanyard on there as tha gives a bit extra push off the hand. But it fits me like a glove. Don't be turned off by the semi $200 price tag as its tough as nails and all in all one great knife. I hope other read this and at least consider it and Sal, if your reading this... PLEASE slap some Ti scales on it and it will be an all time winner. Some really thin ones though :). Thank to all for reading and take care.

I was thinking of installing a thin presentation side scale on mine to make the grip more substantial and improve grip. Problem is I'd need to drill and tap the handle or epoxy the scale in place.
Either way there goes all resale value. Need to be sure I want to keep it first. Lots of knives out there I haven't tried yet. ;)

I haven't handled one, but I like the look of it a lot. I'll probably try one at some point, but for the most part I've shied away from metal handled Spydies.

Just to be clear, Carpenter is the name of the company that makes the steel. It has nothing to do with carpenters that build houses and such. I couldn't tell if you got that or not, just wanted to make sure.

But anyway, I too love this model and I'm glad it's winning fans. I like steel handles just as much as titanium, but I wouldn't mind seeing what this would look like in G10.
