A friend of mine showed me a spyderco, i'm not sure what model, it was made in Golden, CO and it had EARTH etched in the blade as well. Does anyone else have a model with EARTH on it? I would love to have a knife that said earth, can this be done custom?

All Spydercos now made in Colorado say Earth on them. That is all the ones with S30V blades. ;)

Thats the coolest thing i have ever heard. I love when things say from their from earth.

The C41 Native, whether you buy it at Wal-Mart or elsewhere. The large and small Manix both have it as well. Believe the Military and Para-Military, and T-Mag also do, but can't swear to it.

If you like the "Earth" on the blades, then you'll love the "Rare Earth" on the T-Mag! ;) The Rare Earth signifies the Earth magnet used to keep the blade locked open as well as locked closed.

what are some of the models from Golden?/ Earth?

Military or Para-Military or Native or Chinook 3 or UKPK or Manix or Manix 83 mm, ... :)

If you look at the Spyderco Product Guide you will see that every model from domestic US production is described as "Made in Golden, Colorado" and this is an indication for "Earth" or "Rare Earth".

Thanks guys. Seems liked i looked at a mini manix and it just said golden CO, maybe i wasnt looking hard enough

I think spyderco should start stamping their japanese models with Earth as well. Or at least the Caly3.

Aside from my Blackhawks, one of my two Renegades, my "Q"s, and my BRK Native, all my US made Spydercos seem to have the "Earth" marking.

I made the mistake of buying a Wally World Native - $39.48. Yeah, S30V steel - 'EARTH', indeed. It's an evil knife... I showed it, my first-ever Spyderco, to too many folks... they all wanted one - all the W-W's are out - and their site said it wasn't available. Harrumphh. Now, my name is mud... or worse.

Seriously, if you can find one - what a bargain! Very well made - and made here - okay, there - in Golden, CO, EARTH! I won't comment on it's sharp blade, other than to say have a tourniquet handy... er, nubby! Seriously, I now have an intro to Spyderco AND S30V steel - great combo.
