Grampa-
I like IWB carry more for smooth handles, such as stainless or micarta (stainless is also a lot thinner--I need to lose weight)

. My suggestion would be to change your draw technique, no matter were you clipit:
Put your thumb on top of the waistband or pocket just in front of the knife, and use your first and 2nd (or 2nd and 3rd) fingers to push the knife up far enough to disengage the clip. As you're moving your fingers up, position them to grab the knife as it falls back into your hand. You'll be in good position to open it, especially if you're carrying tip up.
Pulling the part of the knife that's protruding above the clip is going to be a difficult way to draw, especially with G10, and especially IWB. You can do this if you carry tip down (military), but try to reach in far enough to grab the spydie hole between your thumb and first finger, then open using gravity drop.
I usually carry an Endura SE SS IWB at about 3:30 IWB, and just drop my Military in my RF pocket tip down. It's long enough to be able to reach in and grab it by the hole to get it out and open it quickly. The Endura stainless is almost as long as the Military, but much heavier; however, it's so thin that I hardly ever feel it IWB, and the clip is mostly covered by a wide belt. (Tip up is the only way to go with this one for me--it puts the clip in position underneath my 2nd, 3rd, and 4th fingers so I can get enough leverage to open it without the SS slipperiness).
It might be more comfy just to carry a Military or Para clipped in your back pocket, and try some stainless model for IWB.
