Spyderco GB - how tough is it?

I'm loving my Spyderco Gayle Bradley...can't imagine ever selling this knife down the road.

My head keeps telling me that I'm set for folders for a good while, but I just want to make sure my current kit is well-rounded with its capabilities.

I've heard many say the GB is a harder-use knife...so what is it comparable to? Can it handle everything that a ZT 560 can? What about Strider SnG or a Spydie Tuff?

Just want to make sure this folder can cover this end of the spectrum as far as folders go. Thanks guys.

That thread was one of the reasons that I purchased the GB in the first place--granted I didnt' read every post word for word, but I knew it can handle harder use in general.

My question was more how it directly compares to other folders known for toughness and durability that are regularly talked about, as mentioned above. Is the GB on the same level?

I'd say that it is on the same level except as regards rust resistance. If you know how to take care of a non-stainless blade, then M4 is certainly an excellent choice of steel for any use a blade should be put to.

It won't be up to the Tuff, based on thickness of steel, the steel used, and the grind.
And the pivot.

I have played with the ZT 0560....not my cup of tee. I prefer a thinner edge on my folders. A folder should cut, a fixed blade for lateral and harder (sometimes for those dumb rambo moments) uses. Even a small fixed blade will outperform a large folder IMO.

In my opinion you are covered for a well build, reliable and dependable folder that can withstand hard cutting chores. If you want to beat on something...buy a fixed blade.
