I have a pe Gunting 440 steel with a black clip.
I have seen a ce in S30v with a silver clip .
How many variations might there be ?
Any advice appreciated.
thanks,Rick.

What you have is CPM-440v. AFIK, there is only that and the S30V. The gurus should be by to tell you more.

Awaiting more info.
Maybe Scott can advise me of the differances again.
It seems to have escaped me!:(
regards.

Someone call me?

440V PE Black Clip (some were numbered, some were not)
440V PE Silver Clip (some were numbered, some were not)
440V CE Black Clip
440V CE Silver Clip
S30V PE Silver Clip
S30V CE Silver Clip
Trainer Black Clip(some were numbered, some were not)
Trainer Silver Clip(some were numbered, some were not)
CRMIPT Silver Clip

That covers all the basic variations I ever had. Hope that helps;) I can personally verify that these variants exist, because I had them in my hand at some point.

What's new ?You getting out of the Guntings?
I see you have gotten rid of some.
What do you consider the best variation?
regards.

Best variation to collect is S30V PE due to it's rarity.
Best variation to use is S30V CE or 440V PE(they're both REALLY easy to find)
Best variation in terms of construction is 440V CE, the ones I had were by the best lockup, and flawless in every way. Clip color is irrelevant except to the collector, but I thought the silver ones stayed nicer looking longer.

Yes all of my Guntings are gone now, they weren't being used, and weren't going to be used, since I never get the chance to properly train with them, so all of my Guntings have gone on to better homes.

I do miss them sometimes, but better for them to get some use than sit on my shelf and gather dust waiting for me to have training time.

Too bad you didn't have time to train with them.
But i'm glad they found good homes>lol.
BTW any more grey Caly jrs around your area?
regards,rick.

I have a PE S30V NIB condition. I found it uncomfortable to carry. It has been sitting in my gun safe for the last 3 years. I could part with it.

The mythical version, you'll get a good price for that. If I were still collecting them, you'd be getting an email from me. Lots of people are looking for that model.

My S30V PE GUNTING needs a good home. I just checked ebay there was a CPM 440V CE GUNTING at $349.00. A PE GUNTING & GUNTING TRAINER package deal at $3600.00, no others. I am opened to offers.

Hi Spyken, I have never shipped a blade overseas. What kind of Customs problems would there be? Shipping cost? Insurance cost? etc.

My GUNTING S30V PE is very nice, I don't expect mythical prices, however, I don't intend to give it away either. The first good, fair offer will be considered. Spyderco having only made a small amount of the PE S30V GUNTINGS does add to its value.

Would you please explain a german newbie the difference or meaning between CE and PE?

Well Michael whole crux of the PE Gunting issue has to do with it's collectibility. Supposedly from what I have been told there were only 100 or even less than that of the S30V plain edge Gunting ever made. The plain edged S-30V Gunting is considered among the "Holy Grail" of Spyderco collector's pieces. There really is no advantage to using that differnt variety.

I have personally had 2 plain edged 440V versions that did me well with trades/sales. But the S30V PE Gunting is one you will look long and hard for. The acronym CE means combo edge: SE means serrated edge and PE means plain edge. Good luck finding one

Thanks for the info [100 or less PE S30V GUNTINGS] Mine now sits in my gun safe. The right collector could have it for an inflated offer. 100 or less does make a difference. Only serious offers will be considered. THANKS AGAIN JD SPYDO!!

A question: If I knew where to buy a red trainer Gunting, should I? Are these spydercos really collectible? Any info is appreciated.
