Just got this. Great knife but the handle is way too big for my medium-small size hands, as you can see in one of the photos. It's numbered 075. In some of the pics it might look like a bead blasted finish it's satin finish. Very big and broad blade. Sorry about the dust in the close up and box photos. I should have really wiped things down good before taking the photos.

It hasn't been carried or used or resharpened by me. It was going to be a user for me but with the handle being too large for my hands there was no point in testing it.

Measures 7.5" tip of blade to start of handle. 13-7/8" overall length. 3/16" thick steel.

Edit: WITHDRAWN.

I don't know what the criteria for scary sharp is actually. It's not as sharp as my Spyderco Perrin (the discontinued first one) fixed blade, but it's a much bigger blade with thicker stock and built for a different purpose so I don't think the edge was designed to be as sharp as the Perrin anyway. It's fairly sharp, but not the sharpest I've had out of the box.

Yes. The sheath is the kydex one shown there and it's stored behind the form fitting mold in the box so you can't see it in the boxed shot.

I understand your wishing to sell the knife, but I'd like to comment on your assessment of the handle. I also have medium-small hands, so the handle was designed to work well with hands like mine, in addition to larger hands. With my customs, the handle has been well tested by lots of folks with all sizes of hands.

A common misunderstanding about that handle is the belief your hand must be gripped between the front and rear drops, filling the entire area in between. Not true. In fact if that were the case your hand wouldn't be able to move or work with the knife. The handle has three grip positions. If you just want to do some cutting, you can use the center portion of the handle where the palm swell naturally and securely positions your hand. For finer cutting, you can move your hand forward to just behind the front drop. That give you more control while cutting. If you want to chop, then move your hand to the rear, so your pinky finger rests against the rear drop, just as it would using a machete - one of the best tested chopping/slashing tools ever. Machete handles typically have a drop pivot at the rear, just like this knife and the power of a machete comes from the wrist snap as the handle pivots against the pinky finger - just as with this handle.

Try this, imagine that the rearmost inch of the handle were removed. What is left would look like most knife handles with a palm swell. For practical purposes you can use the knife as if that rear inch weren't there.

We should probably include instructions with these knives, since the handle seeming too large is a common misconception and using it properly is not always obvious.

Maybe that explanation will help you sell the knife. Sorry it didn't meet your expectations.

In the future it would probably be better to email your comments directly to the seller and ask him to put them in his for sale thread. That way he can control the information in his for sale thread. Spark has specifically asked that comments not directly relating to the sell of a knife be kept out of the for sale threads. I understand that your comments were made to be helpful to the seller, however, if you are not interested in buying or selling the knife you should not be posting in the for sale threads.

Your post contains some great info and would probably be a great topic for discussion on the Spyderco forum. More eyes would see it there and you could more easily discuss the benefits of your design.

I have sent a copy of this post to your PM box as well. Please respond to me there

Sincerely
Eric

Thanks, folks.

A quick reminder to all; this is not a discussion area.

Please limit posts to sale information, and take the rest to PM or email.

Thanks.

Mike, your point as with Eric's is well taken. What I posted was intended to assist the seller in selling his knife, as was stated in my last sentence in the above post.
