Hi guys - I'm looking forward to getting the Spyderco Street Bowie that I ordered recently. This knife was on my 'Want List' for a long time, but discontinued before I 'discovered' this Fred Perrin design. Well it looks like I'll have my new Street Bowie afterall, and it won't cost me the ton that they went for on auctions sites or for a custom Perrin. ( if he's even taking order for customs now) Spyderco is making these again.

I wonder - how often is it that a Spyderco design that was discontinued come back into the current line up ?

Did customer calls/emails encourage Spyderco to come out with the Street Bowie again ?

Thanks, ---

It happens with most models at some point......this year we have the lava, calypso, dyad and many other models...the main difference you see is handle materal.

How often do they bring a discontinued model back into full production without changing anything? As far as I know, never. They do Sprint Runs - small runs of a model, current or disco'd, with some change to set it apart from the originals quite often. The SpyderHawk had been discontinued for a few years and came back into production, but with H-1 instead of VG-10 and yellow FRN instead of black or blue. The Tasman Salt is basically an H-1 Merlin, but it got a new name as well, so I don't really count it.
