I like the looks of the knife but have never held one. I like medium to full size knives with a heavy duty blade. I would use this for EDC and camping. I have a BM 630 Skirmish and don't find that too big so I don't think this will be. I guess I am just wondering about the quality compared to other Spydies.

Thanks,
Hawk

If I recall correctly, the knife was reviewed when it was new and there were misgivings about the lock and handle.

I think the quality of these knives is excellent and on-par with Spyderco Seki-produced knives in general. I know of no problem with the locks or the handles. Some folks don't like liner-locks. The handle has a single stainless liner on the lock side and is quite ergonomic IMO. This is a very nice package, especially at the prices it has been offered lately.

Hence, the value of the search function. Seems the liner sticks up so that left-handers easily unlock the knife. The handle reportedly flexes easily, which bothered some. Some reported that the clip didn't keep the knife in their pockets. No one seemed unhappy with the blade - hardly surprising considering.

I happily own Spyderco knives. I do not own, nor will I buy, an Impala. Next one will be a Paramilie.

Thomas, I certainly respect your knowledge base. You obviously have been around here for a while.

I have my Impalas in hand. I am small handed and not the most powerful man around. I am unable to flex the handle at all. I mean, it's not the Manix but for a G10 knife with a single thin steel liner it is very solid.

I am not left handed but I think lefties have troubles with a lot of non-ambidextrous locks.

The clip seems to hold quite securely to my thin pants I am wearing. The smoothed recess where the clip lies does seem to allow a slightly easier draw than other G10 knives I have carried.

Again, I think these are indeed on par with other similar Spyderco products.

Thomas you will love the Paramilitary.
