Hi,

I was wondering if Spyderco will be represented
at the knife show in Marlborough, MA this Sunday?

Thanks

Hi Edb. The factory will not a representative at the Marlborough show.

As a factory, we only attend a few consumer knife shows per year. There might be dealers of ours with product there.

Thanks, Sal!

Do you have any suggestions as to how I could
go about (in advance of the show) finding out
if a Spyderco dealer would be there?

I suppose I should go independent of that,
but I'm really only a fan of Spyderco at this
point. I've bought (this year) a PE Delica,
PE Endura, PE Dragonfly, and a Moran drop point.
Love 'em all! I think I'll be getting a SE
Delica for the other pocket for EDC, and
I've thought of getting a Temperance, since
the Moran doesn't make it out of my wife's
kitchen knife drawer too often ("hey - where
are you going with that??").

So much for that babble. Maybe the question
I should ask is, how would I go about finding
a local dealer? This state (MA) is so liberal,
politically correct, and paranoid, that
even finding a gun shop is like looking for a
needle in a haystack.

Does anyone else have input? Thanks

FWIW, I've been to the Marlborough show 3 times over the last year or two.

There have always been dealers with spyderco knives there, there where usually at least one or two that had almost the full line on display.

However, as a note, the prices where not net prices, they wheren't MSRP either, but somewhere in between.

Spyderco's website has a dealer search function, and you can use your ZIP code or city and state, or any other location, for that matter. You can even select the distance. Go to the home page of www.spyderco.com. Several internet dealers have a good reputation, if the local dealers can not help you. Other internet dealers are less reputable, and browsing these forums can help you decide. Some internet dealers sell old stock, so look out for that, especially if the price is very low. By old stock, I mean discontinued models, or older versions of current models. Spyderco may change the steel used in a blade, and discount dealers may have a large stock of the older blade steel, for example. The Spyderco factory store sells at MSRP, which is good business ethics, since no manufacturer should undercut their dealers. I have bought from the factory store several times, in order to get the latest blade steel or a newly introduced model. The higher price was mitigated by the excellent, fast, courteous service. Also, if the item is not in inventory, their system will let you know, instead of taking your money and leaving you waiting and wondering.

edb,
I was there this summer. Besides the dealers that have many to choose from, don't forget some of the other dealers have some that can also be rarer. I picked up a Q for $30. But also saw an older mariner/rescue and a pink cricket. Good Luck.

Be Excellent to each other.

There will definitely be at least one Spyderco dealer at Marlboro with alot of the models.
