Been reading the "Repairman Jack" novels by F. Paul Wilson and in one of the newer books he is carrying a Spyderco Endura in Black Fully Serrated! He is kinda like a flying under the radar urban mercenary. Entertaining reads to say the least. Got me thinking if there are any other books you guys can think of that feature Spyderco's?

Repairman jack is my favorite series ever. I just started book 8 "crisscross". So far I've seen reference to spyderco in "the haunted air" and "gateways". I've done a Google search in the past and found they appear in quite a few books in the series
F. Paul Wilson takes suggestion from his readers via his forum. So there must have been a spydie fanatic on there and reccomened it.

Hannibal, by Thomas Harris. Mentions a Harpy and Civilian.

Ahh just remembered that from the movie. Had no idea back when I saw it.

That's gonna be a Christmas gift to my mom! She's a fan of the films and I have a spyderco picked out for every member of the family except her. The harpy looks kind of aggressive but I don't think it's a big deal. Looks great for opening packages or cutting a seat belt in an emergency. It should suit her needs perfectly. Thanks for sharing

I believe in one of Stephen Hunter's books (Soft Target if I remember right), a marksman in the local SWAT team carries a Military and uses it to cut through insulation in a rooftop window.

In Mark Greaney's the Gray Man series he writes about Court Gentry using a Spyderco folder, the reference is in On Target. I really enjoyed the Gray Man series from Mark Greaney, they are all so over the top that its great.

My brother is into the monster hunter international series. It doesn't do much for me. I read the first one in the series and the main character uses a nondescript spyderco very early in the book

In one of Brad Taylor book, his main character, Task force operator Pike Logan carrying Spyderco. When I asked Brad, what knife did he had in his mind, he described Paramilitary, one of several Spydercos, which he carried during his service in infantry and special forces.
I will strongly advise anybody to read his books. He knows, what he is writing about and he writes well.

Was it an Endura? I could have sworn it was a police model. Looked like stainless handles to me.

It looked to me like a saber-ground SE Endura 4. But when it went through his hand, it looked like a weird, (reground??) plain-edge Delica, possibly. It seemed like during the course of the scene, the knife was 'shapeshifting'. :)

The first reference to Spyderco I ever came across--and the one that turned me on to the brand-- was way back in Elmore Leonard's novel Freaky Deaky, chapter one. Check it out--that chapter is a master class in how to write action and dialog. You also might recognize that the action was ripped off in one of the Lethal Weapon movies...
