Spyderco JD Smith 3-7/8" VG10 Steel Plain Edge with G10 Handle

Wasn't the original hollow ground as in your link, Jill? All I can find for sale of these are FFG ones.

-Great Ergonomic handles

-slices with ease and VG-10 is easy to sharpen and maitain

-IMHO, more of a "gentleman's knife" as I would only carry it for light work (cutting bags open, stuff around the house, food prep). I just don't see it as a folder for hardcore duties.

-tip may be a bit too thin and may snap (as tips from the Endura #, 2, and 1 did at times)

I'm not bashing the folder (I bought two for use and really like the blade overall) but I see it as a medium use folder.

From the bottom of the linked page: "Please note the production knife has a Full Flat Ground blade, the prototype pictured above has a Hollow Ground blade."

The blade is already thin enough not to need a hollow grind. ;)

I haven't handled one, but I'd agree with you just from the pictures. I just posted that because someone mentioned it being FFG when it's "supposed to be" hollow ground.

It's pretty thin, I handled one a few months ago and the blade tapers down to a very fine point.

I love mine, it's one of my favourite Spydies. From a utility point of view the only bad thing about it is that the tip is quite thin, but that hasn't been a problem for me so far. I mean, I've used the crap out of my Buck 110's and they have fine points as well.

It's slim and carries really well. Materials are very good, too.

Seems to be a great blade, the ergo's are perfect and the quality is up there. I love the knife.
It takes a wicked edge and slices quite nicely.
