I purchased this Spyderco knife at a local pawn shop a week ago. I can't seem to match it to the many models I looked at when trying to figure out what model this knife is and how old it might be? Is there someone out there who recognizes this model? (There are no scratches on the blade. It's from the cloth used to clean the blade.)

The Stainless Steel Natives were the Native2. They were made in Japan and I thought they were all AUS10. Not sure why yours says VG10? I guess they made it in both steels?

Thank you for the responses. Now I'm curious about the steel used for this knife. :>)

Does the issue with the steel being VG-10 vs. AUS-10 affect the value one way or another?

VG-10 is a better steel. In it's day (and still now really) it was a super steel.

So that change is a plus.

I am going to use my guessing powers here and figure that back in the day they would take the catalog pictures in a studio set up and use those for the print catalog and port over to their website. When a knife came up with a new steel they probably wouldn't re-shoot that one knife just to update the website in that period. They'd use the representative Native picture and then just go forward with the new knives/print catalog/product page.
