[/IMG]I have in my hand a Spyderco GIN 1 Stainless. It is a non serrated blade and I would like to know more about this knife. It has SEKI City Japan on it and on the clip is US patent 4347665.

Thanks

I think we'll need more hints than that. Quite a few Spydercos were made in GIN-1 I believe.

GIN-1 is the steel used in the blade. As already noted, it was used in many Spyderco knives in the 80's and 90's, although only those from 1995 on would be marked that way. The patent number is that of the clip, which was also used on most Spyderco knives of that vintage. A more detailed description would be needed to make even an educated guess as to the model. A picture would make IDing it easy.

Here are a couple of pics, I hope someone can tell me the model and what it was worth !! Sorry for the huge pics, Not really skilled with the ol puter !!

This is The spyderco c01 worker, yours is in pretty rough shape and tho a very usable knife it's been sharpened soo much it's not worth much in terms of cash value ! Thus us what they look like in newer condition :

Poor little C01 Worker. That thing has been thrashed on. It's still got lots of life left though!

Yup. That's what's left of one of these.

Yours is a later version. They didn't start using the GIN-1 stamp until 1995. It is still an example of the first model Spyderco made.
