Sal/Michelle,
I am looking at some custom knife purchases, some of which have holes in the blade for opening. At one time you ran ads indicating who was using your design with your permission. This has been some time ago,and the ads indicated that other approvals were in the works. In order to be assured that I am honoring your exellent design, could you post a current list of "spyderhole" licensee`s?

David, I must say this is a very interesting question, and shows an excellent honorable intent on your part. You are to be commended for showing such high regard for the hard work that the Spydee crew has done with their Spydee-hole, and all Spyderco fans should use this as an example should their knife fancies tend toward the higher-end custom market. Kudos to you, David.

Thanx Joyce.

We still do that with custom makers, but for customs only. I know that some of the forumite knifemakers are on the list (Corduroy for example).

We charge a one time fee of $50. We also get to see some great designs.

Wow, that's a shorter list than I expected. Folks don't know what they're missing! Thanks for printing it

Joyce,
Thank you for your complete and timely response. If entrepeneurs are to flourish, than their pioneering designs must be protected.Like many others,my passion for knives all started with one Spyderco. If it had been an inferior product or a disappointment,I can not be sure it would have held my attention long enough for the knife fever to take hold.
I think custom makers owe a debt of gratitude to Spyderco for this reason. As an ELU,I know I do.
