Spyderco Lockup

I have a Paramilitary2 (digicam G-10, satin blade), and I can't quite get the lockup perfect. It's either the lockup is perfect but it doesn't open/close properly, or it opens/closes great but there's blade play in every direction. Any suggestions on how to fix? Also, I'd prefer to not have to send it in for warranty work.

Thanks,

Could it just need a cleaning/lube or have you tried that?

If your sure its clean & oiled you can loosen all screws (handle & pivot), tighten pivot down, tighten handle screws down, loosen/adjust pivot. That's about all you can try without technically voiding the warranty.

Yup
Loosen all the screws a bit to where they are free. Make sure all is clean and excess oil is wiped out.
Just barely tighten the screws so that they all set into the handle with no pressure. Set the pivot first. Then work the stop pin screws until they are perfect. Sometimes the stop pin screws need loctite due to having to leave them less snug than desirable. It is a knife that takes a bit of playing with. Get the pivot and action where you need it for smoothness and no bladeplay, And snug everything else up as much as possible after. If you use a little bit of the blue on all the screws and leave it over the nite at bed time. You will be fine, and you will not lost any fun time with it,
Good luck and that should do it. I think I said the same thing twice but worded differently. But heh.

You can try to rotate the stop pin, some folks have luck with that. Otherwise, I agree with the posters above, tweak ALL the screws, clean and lube. The handle screws do make a huge difference. If you find the centering off, one side's screws need to be tightened farther than the other side. Hope this helps!
