I'm posting just to give Spyderco some love. I've had a Sage I for awhile and dearly love it. I just aquired a Techno and once again -- I dearly love it! I carry the Techno to work because of the 2 it's a little bit more sheeple friendly.

I'm wondering if Spyderco would ever come out with a slightly larger version of the Techno? While I love the current version..I think I would REALLY love one just a tad longer. I realize that a longer one would lose some of it sheepleness, but I'd hang onto my Techno I for that! Thoughts? Am I crazy?

The Boker Albatross looks similar to the Techno but is somewhat larger.

What other knives are similar to the techno?

Also, is anybody aware of a source to buy original Spyderco techno - the Marcin Slysz Mouse?

Three and a half to four inches sounds perfect to me!

I'm a noob here and only have a handful of Spydercos, but among them are my two favotite folders...the Sage 1 & 2, with the "2" being my all time favorite pocket knife. My thinking is that if you also liked your Sage 1, and are looking for a larger Techno...perhaps the Sage 2 Ti is the answer?

Good call. I've had a Sage II and loved it. I like the "beefier" Techno and it's overall design. Although, the Sage II is one sweet knife!

You might want to try a Tuff. It's overbuilt like the Techno is. It DOES have a G10 scale on the non-locking side though so it's not all Ti. I don't personally own one, but I've carried a friend's for a week and it was impressively stout.

As an alternative, you might want to checkout a Benchmade 755 MPR. It has that some 'OVERBUILT' design as the Techno, and also uses M390 blade steel as well. It used more G10 than Ti though. It has a Ti framelock on one side with a short G10 half scale, and the other side is all G10. I like mine quite a bit.

I bought the Techno and loved it, and then I bought the Brad Southard and loved it even more! I highly recommend the Southard if you like the Techno.

Kris -- both of those knives are not my cup o tea. The blade design is not me at all!

Stig -- the Southard is nice but still not me.

I guess I've grown quite picky in my semi-older years. If 58 is older? I know what I like?
