Ok I have a Spyderco Lum Chinese that I picked up from a buddy of mine. I was looking the knife over last night and notice that the blade has no stamps on the bottom of the blade. I asked him and he never got a box with the knife or any paper work. He got it off ebay and the seller is a legitimate company and they tould him that the knife was a first run and it didnt come with any stampings. I had several Spyderco knives and it looks and feels like spyderco quality. I'm just interested if anyone has one that has no stampings like VG10 And Spyderco

whats the color .can we see pics?

i have SEVERAL spyderco lums so i am interested in this

Never seen a Spyderco Lum Chinese Folder without tang stamps, but wouldn't be the first time I've been surprised. Still, without markings, a box, or some form of provenance, I'm inclined to be skeptical. FWIW, the first run of the Lum Chinese, like all collaboration models at that time, were serial numbered.

I believe this knife has come up before. Cool piece and I am sure it is real but don't expect the mistake to add any value.

Definitely not first production run, or even an early Lum. Looks like it's one of the Moteng black bladed Lums from a year or two ago. Doubt anyone has cloned them, so it's probably real.

Thanks everyone for the help! Makes me feel great about the trade I made :-) I new going here will give me the answer.

I came across a prototype Chinese Lum last year sold on eBay by a reputable knife seller who I have bought from before. It was described as a Chinese Lum Titanium prototype with a black blade. I was very interested and bought it as I've always wanted a titanium Lum with a black blade. When I received it and posted pictures of it, the handles weren't actually titanium as there were liners but the they were a lighter colored version of the foliage green that was eventually produced. I had returned the knife as it didn't have titanium handles but did notice the blade had no Spyderco VG-10 or Seki City Japan markings. The knife came with no box either (one in picture is my own spare box).

Here's are some pictures I took before it went back to the seller. Have no idea what they did with it and haven't seen it listed on eBay again.

@SpyHary

Was the seller White Mountain Knives? The reason why I ask because my buddy said the listing said it was a prototype spyderco lum.

Yes, it was from them. It was a nice piece but given the price paid and that it wasn't a titanium, it was returned. It looked very similar to the foliage green/black production model other than it had no markings on the blade.

Well I have to say this is the same knife, what a small world! Well thanks for your help
