I recently acquired this one ; I don't per se carry fixed blade(s) but LIKEE tanto(s) in one's collection. I know, I KNOW, could use a better carry sheath, but as I'm not "carrying" the one supplied will do FINE by me.
What say the augerer(s)?

AET ;)

The tanto is a real nice piece. Definatley not a carrying piece. All I do with mine is admire it.I wish the guard was just a tad bigger.

Spyderco did a great job copying 99% of Bob's custom Field Grade Small Tanto model. The only part they couldn't get is the tip, as that proved to be too difficult for manufacturing. I carry my Custom Field Grade Tanto every once in a while, but now have been carrying the Spyderco version exclusively. It even fits in the custom kydex sheaths I had made up for the Tanto. All of Bob's fixed blades exhibit a phenominal sense of balance, and you get a good indication from the Spderco's version. That cutout on the handle really works to provide added grip when used.
