I was wondering how much the Lum Chinese [leaf shape blade and aluminum handles] is going for on average?

I have been looking at this knife to have as a collectors piece and am curious to how much they are running on average?

If the different finish Black/Uncoated have an impact on the price?

Just curious to how much I should be expecting to pay.

Which Spyderco Lum are you talking about? I can think of many different Spydie/Lum collabs, at least two of which featured a black blade variant. You talking about the Lum Tanto folder? No matter. Anything having to do with Bob Lum is starting to get into ridiculous pricing levels. And it only gonna go higher.

If, in fact, you are talking about the black blade Lum Tanto folding knife from Seki City... My guess is that you'll easily be spending 2 Franklins. These were on closeout a few years ago for 75 bucks shipped. I wish I'd have ordered a five gallon bucket full.

Im actually talking about the Spyderco Lum Chinese with the Leaf Shape Blade and Aluminum handles.

What are the prices on these?

I've seen them go for 95 to 160 on the forums here, with the cheaper ones being used but in very good condition. I got mine, the ZDP-189 variant (black handle with satin ZDP blade), for $115 used in very good condition a few months ago, and I absolutely love it. In fact it spent the entire day today in my pocket. (very very good condition I should add, despite having been carried a bunch and sharpened lightly---these things seem to age well, although mine now has some scratches on the clip, which is just black paint coated).

EDIT: average prices seem to be $115 to $140 last I saw for very good condition to NIB

Okay then, that clarifies things a little.... Mongo's right. A little OVER a hundred bucks. However, a certain shoppe that sells cutlery is closing out the foliage green one with the black coated blade for a little UNDER a hundred bucks.

By a little over 100 can be different to many people..are we talking 105-120 on average?

I will be lookin for cheaper of course.

There were few variants of Lum Chinese .
Currently available at dealers: Sprint Run Foliage Green handle, VG10 blade, coated and uncoated. PE only. the best price at dealer I saw lately $86 for uncoated, 96 for black blade.
2008 Sprint Run: Solid ZDP Blade, Black Handle. PE only Can be found mostly on e-bay or forums. NIB around $130-150. Depends on luck.
Discontinued production: Green Handle, VG10 blade. I didn't see them for sale long time. PE and SE. If you find NIB PE around $200, than it is your lucky day.
AG Russell special. Blue handle. VG10 blade. PE only. NIB $250 is your lucky day.
Also I saw pictures of Cranberry prototype. As far as I know two of them exist.
PE only. Price $$$$.
Good luck

BH49 is obviously way more in touch with this than I am, but my opinions:
VG-10 versions are pretty readily available right now, right close to $100 where I've seen them.
ZDP-189, you'll have to lurk on forums/auction sites, maybe you'll get lucky, prices quoted above look right from what I've seen, this is a great steel for most people's EDC.
I wish there was an H1 version....

I got my Sprint Run Foliage Green handle for under $100, shipped from a place called Cutlery Shoppe. Look around the net.
