To recap from an earlier thread: last year I got hit with a rare spinal cord disease that paralyzed my left side; I'm a hemiplegic. In trying new things (like cutting my own damned food) I got a special fork (thicker and weighted), then successfully tried an Endura for cutting. Worked well, and I posted the good news.

A number of folks suggested I try a Spyderco Maddox. I just did at dinner, and it worked brilliantly. Cut everything easily. I didn't need any special fork either. Really a wonder invention.

I just wanted to thank this forum for terrific ideas.

Now I want to get another, just in case.

Thanks again.

Great story using the Maddox for what is was designed for. As someone who can only use 1 arm I can understand the fun of cutting stuff up 1-handed. Last time at Longhorns I used my SE Delica. Of course my wife would rather cut my steak up for me than have me pull out my own knife.

Where did you find one? I think it's been disco'd for a while. Glad you like it though, intended purpose and all. :)

Got it on ebay. I'll be chacking for another. Any idea of where I can get a custom sheath at a reasonable price?

Great news, I'm glad you found something that works for you:thumbup:
Hope you can continue to find things to make your life a bit more easy.

halfneck(in Calhoun), I'm about 15 min from you. Maybe Calhoun will win state this year, looking good so far:thumbup:

Great to hear that! Be well.

Actually, as a long time martial artist/SD instructor, I was eyeing it once upon a time for its defensive potential.

post this thread in the sheath section of the forum, lotsa guys will jump in with offers to make one up!
glad to hear you found the perfect knife for you! it doesn't happen to us all haha

To anyone that is interested in picking one up, there is a well known and very reputable online merchant who has some in stock. PM me if you need a link, as I am not sure I can post one here.
