Saw this for sale on ebay. Looks like it is a Spyderco that is marked Rigid. Anybody know anything about these? I am skeptical but if it is a different variation it might be kinda cool to have in the collection.

Well, I looked, and there are like 12 of them. Just search "rigid spyderco" and there are a whole bunch of listings.

Yes I see them. I don't know if there is any truth to them being Spyderco or if they are knock offs though. I am leaning toward knockoff.

I believe the ones with the round hole openers are real Spydercos, the others are Rigids, and the seller is either lazy or likes to keyword spam, so he put both names in all descriptions.

Well, tomorrow I may be able to tell you for sure whether or not the #1002L-STR and #1002L-SER are genuine. Have a notice to pick up a package at the PO, and believe it's them. :D

Well, the two Mariners I got are very close to mint condition, just a few scratches that make me guess they were display models. They even came in the original blue boxes, with the foil wrapping.

Deacon, I'm glad to hear that received them and are satisfied. I think I purchased from the same guy. I bought a Standard (he called it a 1005R-STR). I'm really looking forward to receiving this one.
