I have been eyeing the Manix 2 for a while now and just recently decided to finally purchase one based on all of the reviews and recommendations from multiple people. I went with the combo edge (I know, not desirable but I like combo edges once in a while), black 154CM steel blade with G10 handles.

HOLY SMOKES, what a BEEFY knife! I didn't expect it to be such a monster of a folder weight-wise! It feels great, super solid, ready for anything. I'm very happy with the purchase. But I don't see replacing the Benchmade 950 Rift as my EDC, it's way too heavy.

According to their respective websites, the Manix 2 is only 0.2 oz heavier than the Rift. So carry that dang Manix! :)

Here's a little eye candy for you.

Seriously??? Man, it sure feels like its probably 2 oz heavier! I'll have to try and carry it tomorrow.

^^^ Nice one btw!

My SE Manix 2 shows 5 1/4 oz, and my Rift 950 says 4 7/8. So that about right. The smooth contours of the Rift and sharp countenance of the Manix may be playing with your head. :)

You could be right. The Rift is more blade heavy and lighter everywhere else. But the weight on the Manix 2 is more overall, feels like a solid piece of steel. Can't stop playing with this Manix 2!

I can't say enough good things about the Manix2.
It's my favorite folder - Hands Down! And I've tried a lot of more expensive Spydercos and BM's.
It's stout, has great ergos, and the jimping is fantastic. Very grippy.
To me it just feels solid, not heavy.
Congrats on the new blade! I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

Is that you Nutnfancy?

LOL!
