Here a small review about the Manix 2 Carpenter CTS-BD30P.

Just recieved it my mailbox and I was so nervous to unpack it that I waited for an hour :D

So I got myself beer and unpacked my new knife! It comes with a letter from Spyderco that it is a Sprint run with the all new CTS-BD-30P steel.

The knife out of the box is unbelievable sharp! A month ago I bought a Military orange S30V sprint run and it is not even close to the sharpness of this blade!
The knife feels rocksolid. No bladeplay at all and it has a very nice snap when you open it. It's my first ball bearing lock and for now I am very pleased with it. It just feels sturdy. :triumphant:

The liners are skeletonized so the knife weight is good enough to EDC. The G10 handles are slightly agressive so maybe I will sand them a little bit under the clip. So it will be no pocket shredder.

The blade itself has a perfect shape I think so it will do good as a nice slicer!

Here are some pics!

In this pic you can see the sceletonized liners!;)

Spyderco says that the CTS-BD-30P steel is roughly equivalent to S30V.
Looking forward to hearing about your opinion as you use the knife.

Also looking forward to your impressions.

Can't wait till mine comes on the Friday!

I've been on the fence about getting a manix for awhile now, the flat grind just sold me on it. looks like I'm getting my first spidey.

I'm sure you will like it! Today I sanded the G-10 down a little bit under the clip. Now it's totally smooth.

I have always looked passed the Spydercos because years ago I thought the quality was lacking.

But it looks like they have come a long way.

I love the Netherlands, such a nice country. Amsterdam, nice clean city (other than those weird pee things on the street) with some nice people.

Teh quality is indeed perfect. I live in the south part of the Netherlands with some small hills. It's nothing like Amsterdam, but also very nice!

I got that same knife a couple of weeks ago, it knocked my Para 2 out of my pocket. Amazing ergos, thin, excellent all around, and the lighter weight and trimness make it a Perfect EDC for me.
