Hey guys and gals. I am interested in getting the latest version of the Manix 2 in the translucent blue "FRCP" handle. It comes with a wire clip instead of the usual clipit. Can anyone tell me about how the wire clips hold up? If you own one of these bad boys, can you contribute anything about it, good or bad? I have never heard of the handle material before, so I need to look a bit more into it. I am only wondering whether the clip will hold up and whether there will be any blade play. Any info on Manixes in general or on this model would help so I can make an informed buy. :D

It is very grippy and hard. I love this knife. I carry it more than my g10 sprint run, which I love too. I don't abuse or seriously work my knives and so the steel is good and sharpens easily. I would highly recommend this nice. I think the manix 2 fits my hand like a glove. It fits my hand better than para 2, which is good too.

I really like the Translucent Manix 2. In contrast to the "regular" M2s, it is very lightweight. So, it feels a bit weird in that respect. I find the handle to be very adequate for my typically light cutting chores. And, I really like the wire clip.

My favorite pic of my Trans-M2:

Let me give you some background. I have owned many Spydercos, and still own 10 or so. I carried a Native 2 FRN for over 10 years, and even used one in Afghanistan, with absolutely no complaints. The Manix 2 replaced the Native for me, finally. The only downside to the Manix 2 was the weight and the abrasion to pants, so when carrying a lot of gear, or wearing nice pants, I would go back to a Native or a Delica.

The Translucent Manix 2 changed that. It still was rock-solid, incredibly strong, sharp, and had fabulous ergonomics, but weighed almost half as much, and the handle, while still grippy, doesn't rip up pants or skin like the G10 version. It is literally my favorite folding knife ever, and I hope Spyderco considers making a 75% version as the standard knife- in a different color, of course- that they suggest for military use instead of their current Native.
