Spyderco Manix 2 Lightweight S110V with FRCP Scales

How do folks who own this knife like the FRCP scales with respect to the grip they provide? I live in Wisconsin, where gloves are a necessity for a least 4 four months a year, and I would like scales that provide the best grip possible. Note that I have had good luck in the past with roughly textured G10 scales and I am not concerned with the wear rough scales may cause to my clothing.

If the FRCP scales on the Manix 2 Lightweight don't provide the grip I need, what are the possibilities with respect to putting custom G10 scales on the Manix 2 Lightweight, or with replacing the FRCP scales with G10 scales from the other Manix 2 versions?

Thanks

I recently received one of these blades as one of my first three spydies. It is by far the lightest knife for the size I have ever handled. The pattern on the handles offers amazing grip, and the handle is plenty big for gloved hands. I say GO FOR IT!

They are grippy (the S110V model has FRN). If more grip is needed on the back you could always burn a pattern into the scales with a wood burning tool. I did this on my FRCP BD1 lightweight.

Thanks to all for your responses.

The 2015 Spyderco catalog says the S110V model is FRCP. Is FRN that different with respect to grip?

It feels like FRCP to me, their website says FRN and the sheet that came with the knife actually says both, lol. Compared to the FRN used on the D4/E4, the FRCP in the Manix has a harder surface texture? Like, it's smoother than FRN but just a tad. I kind of prefer the feel of the FRN on the D4/E4.

I have one.. This is one of my most edc Spydercos I do.. With gloves on it provides an adequate grip.. Never felt like I was out of control.. I like mine ALOT!! John

They provide amazing grip. Not much can compare, even coarse peel ply would not be much of an improvement.
