Spyderco Manix 2 LW

I HAVE A MANIX 2 LW AND HATE THE FRN SCALES. IS IT POSSIBLE TO USE THE BLADE AND PIVOT FROM THE LW AND ORDER G10 SCALES AND THE HARDWARE TO GO WITH IT? I HAVE TRIED TO CONTACT SPYDERCO WITH NO RESULTS YET AND HAVE TALKED TO SPYDERCO DEALERS BUT NONE OF THEM KNOW, SO I REACHED OUT TO THIS FORUM. THANK YOU FOR ANY FEEDBACK
 
No need to yell.

If your knife is a current factory screw build.
You can disassemble it and swap the blade to a donor G10 version.

Or you can buy a set of AWT Linerless
LW Manix scales

If you have the older rivet version.
you will end up destroying the FRN to remove the blade you have to source
a donor G10 Manix or buy a backspacer from Etsy.

Buy a Membership so you can post a Pic of your knife.
A Pic will help alot

Thank you for your reply. Do you know if the pivot or some people call pivot barrel will fit from the LW scales to the G10 scales? Once again thank you
 
I believe the pivots are the same for LW and G10.

Is the knife Rivet or G10

The LW has the screws, a newer model. I ordered G10 scales with metal liners but it seems that the backspacer is wrong. Anyway I believe that I will order from AWT the complete kit. Thank you
 
Check out Etsy for the Backspacer.
Sometimes they are available

Other it will have to be AWT LW scales

Original goat sells full kit LW scales(multiple milling patterns) too, even a skiff bearing option if desired.

I recently built a screwed M2LW and added Metonboss Titanium scales ,had skeletonized liners laying around from another swap! I used the compensated back lock (from Etsy) that uxo2 mentioned previously, they sell a black version too!

I talked to Spyderco yesterday. Their repair and warranty person said that the only part of a LW Manix 2 that would work on another Manix 2 might be the blade. They called what I call the pivot a bushing and said that the bushing would not work on another model. So I have 2 other Manix 2's, one in S30V and the other in CruWear and I guess one day I will see if that Spy27 blade will work on one of those. Thank you for your input
