Spyderco Manix 2 or Benchmade Mini Grip

Which would you guys prefer?

Spyderco Manix 2 hands down! Every day all day and I love Benchmades. I've bought & sold a couple of Grips, try to open one w/o the pocket clip - it can't be done. Chintzy hollow plastic PO IMHO. :o

x2 on the manix. I've handled both and feel much more comfortable/confident with the manix. Feels much more solid as far as locking and grip are concerned.

what ^ they said! The Manix 2 in any flavor, G10, Moonglow, or the translucent blue Polymide feel GREAT in the hand. And they lock in much better than my full size grip.

Ditto. The Manix 2 is far superior in my eyes. The main thing that sticks out to me is the horrid ergos of the Mini Grip.

Manix 2....hands down. The cheap plastic feel on the BM is the main reason why I've never owned one.

I like them both. I use the mini grip around the house for packages and opening stuff for the kids. I've had my m390 mini grip since November 2010 and haven't needed to sharpen it yet for these tasks. It disappears in my pajama pants pockets.
I use the manix2 outside around the house and garage. It's a tough sharp knife.
If I had to choose between the two I'd keep the mini grip only because I already have several larger tough heavy knives but not many small light ones that I like. If I could only have 1 knife those being my only two choices, then I would pick the manix2.

For my money, I'd go with the Manix 2. Still, I have not used the Griptilian - I've only held a couple - so my experience with it is limited. I did not like the feel of the handles or the handle materials, so for me the choice is clear. That might not be a factor for you, though.

I like my Mini Grip way more than my Manix 2. The Cuscadi scales make a good knife into a great one. The Manix is a pretty good knife in it's own right though

Both of their locks are kind of similar. Which one is stronger?

Opinions vary quite widely on that one. Some folks say that the CBBL on the manix 2 is weak, pointing to Ankerson's test video, others say that the axis lock on the grip is weak, pointing out reports of omega spring failures, etc. Both locks definitely have their advantages and disadvantages.

I've got a full size grip and a Manix 2. I like the blade shape of the grip but prefer the Manix 2 overall. It seems a lot more substantial in hand, smoother operating, and I like the aggressive jimping.

I'm leaning towards the manix 2 but I heard the pivot isn't adjustable. Is this true and if so had anyone experienced any blade play on it?

You realize that these two knives are oranges and grapefruit, right? The mini Grip is a sub-3" blade while the Manix 2 is a ~3.5" blade. The full sized Grip is closer to being comparable with the Manix 2. The handles on the big Grip are cheaper feeling than the ones on the mini, FWIW. Grips are fat side to side, while the Manix is wide the other way (back to front).
