Are you saying that from experience or only from what you've heard on the 'net?

I'm glad you like it! I had to let mine go because the lock was awkward for me to disengage. And I already had a 4" blade with the military.

Yes, a great new evolution of the original Manix.

I wonder how long it will be until there are sprint runs of it?

I'd like to see M390 or CPM-M4 for starters.

Now you're talking. I kinda heard some suggestions of a sprint of this in s90v over at the spyderco forums.

I have an 2 xl also. It's a great knife. I have a ZT 0300 but I won't say I like the 2 Xl better than my 0300.

They are entirely types of knives as far as I'm concerned. The Manix is more of a slicer and all around knife, the 0300 is a lot more HD and is more of a cutter and

not a slicer. I missed out on the orginal Manix in pe(had a ce but traded it) so I'm really glad to have my Manix 2 XL.

I just ordered one for $89 free shipping, a fairly well known online store is having an overstock sale, should get it this week, I'm really looking forward to it. I also really hope they do at least a couple sprints, S90V, 3V, M390, ELMAX would all me good.

i love this thing its an awesome knife but I do have to say the lock is a little awkward to disengace it would be better if they put some type of rubber coating on it to help but overall it's an awesome knife, superior steel and light carry, its good for edc

I can't stop carrying mine. Definately a keeper.

I'd love to see a sprint run, but the problem for me becomes a price issue. At 100 bucks, (michaelm466 you got a smoking deal), it's a perfect price point for many of us. I couldn't afford more right now.

I'm not a fan of the lock, as its hard for me to disengage with one hand. I'm bet that I would dig the XL though if I got my hands on one.

I have 3 of these in various steels and one XL. I have never had a problem closing one with my thumb and index finger. Maybe I am just lucky.

Try it you'll like it. Hold the lock with you thumb and forefinger and flick your wrist/hand down. Nuttin' to it.

I have an original Manix, and was wondering how the XL compares to it. I've gotten used to the lock on the original, and although I have a couple of Manix2's, I have never really developed a strong liking for the caged ball.

The blade is a little thinner but I think it slices better.......I had an orginal ce that I traded. I like the backspacer and lock much better on the orginal. Mine doesn't have
any jimping except the thumb ramp.....Somebody must have gone wild with a dremel. I like the orginal Much better without all the jimping. I heat treated the shiny clip
too. Black g-10 with a dark clip......much better.

The XL is a great knife tho. It's great that Spyderco brought back a knife so many guys missed out on and were asking for it to be made again.

Thanks for the response clockman. I'll probably get an XL soon and see if I like it, if not, I'm sure the exchange will have some takers.
