Well, first of all Hello
So, basically the title of the thread says it all. But I guess some details would help, so:
I'm a peruvian (it's a real word!) trekker. As a trekker I often need to use a knife, either to cut wood, ropes, food, to fight all kind of mythological creatures, or just to show off. I own a couple of half decent knives but they're not as good as I'd like them to be. In fact in find that they're very lacking when fighting centaurs.
Jokes apart, here in Peru you don't have access to a big array of knives, which is too bad. Anyway, I decided to spend some money buying a knife in the USA and have it sent to my country. After a lot of research, I narrowed my choices to one of the two models in question.
I want a folder because of the portability and the fact that I don't really need a fixed blade because there is hardly any batoning or wood chopping to do in the middle of the Andes. Size is not such a big deal for me since I don't plan to use those knives as EDC. I hace a small Kershaw Skyline for that which is pretty decent at it. I'd just like to know which one of those two knives would fit better the role I expect them to have. Personally I think the Manix 2 XL looks just stunning, functional, and I also like the G10 handles. But the BM and it's kind of lame Lego handle seem to be able to withstand more beating, and it's locking mechanism seems more sturdy, which for me is important since if the locking mechanism was to fail there is no way in the world I could make use of the knife's warranty and I'd probably end up using it to cut myself from sheer sadness. But I most likely am talking absolute nonsense.
So I'd like you to tell me which one to get, basically. Help!!!
Oh and also, Lima (where I live) is a very humid city, in the 85-88% department. Which explains the centaurs, they like humid places :grumpy: Any recommendation on how to keep my knife protected, as in where to put it when not in use, and of any product that might help me in keeping it without rust? Or no special care is needed (humidity-related) ?
I love you all
