I just got the Spyderco Manix in a passaround this morning, and this is one big knife. A little too big for my tastes. Posted this in the Discussion forum, so, well, it would be discussed. Handles too big, etc? I do like the choil on it.

I like the size of that knife - depending on wardrobe. For EDC, I like a knife with some heft to it though. A buddy of mine picked up the Manix & a leather beltsheath for it he got somewhere. Nice package if you ask me.

I had one and love the knife. I wish I had never traded it. i don't think it is too big. My EDC for a while was a Skirmish now that is big. I f i get a chance to snag another Manix I will. :D

its a beefy knife, bigger than I would want for EDC, but definately fun when it comes time to go into the woods or camp.

The Manix is very close to my ideal heavy-duty outdoors folder. Also in the running is my Al Mar SERE 2000. I never thought I'd find a folder which might one day displace the S2K, but this is looking like it might be a close race.

I bought, then sold on, a Spyderco Military. Although it was big, the blade tip was too delicate to convince me that it would stand up to a beasting.

I bought, then sold on, a Benchmade AFCK. Although it was big, the ergos just weren't right for me.

I don't think I'll be selling the Manix.

"Problems" so far? Mine (bought second-hand) has a trace of fore-and-aft blade play; also, the blade is a millimeter or two off-centre when closed. Neither of these concerns me.

I like it.

A great knife. I have the Manix/CE. I only wish it was available fully serrated though (that would be THE pefect knife and eliminate the use of any other knife)
