I just ordered a Spyderco Manix C95 PE from NGK this morning and it should arrive by weeks end. My only other Spyderco is the Native w/CPM-S30V and my EDC is a CRKT M16-14SF. Is the Manix as stiff to open as the Native? Should I expect to see a nice jump up in quality (fit and finish) from the CRKT? I realize that there is only about $40 difference between the two but I have only read good things about the Manix.

Thank you for any insight.

You'll love the Manix. Opening and closing is as smooth as butter. Excellent grind too. My bet is that you'll gain quite a bit of cutting efficiency over the CRKT. Edge retension should also be greatly improved.

Manix is one hell of a folder. Solid lock up, great blade shape, flat grind, great edge retention, very grippy and smooth opening. Make no mistake though...this folder NEEDS to be worked hard. IMHO their is no better knife for the price because of its cost and toughness. You wont be dissapointed.

The Manix is a Native on heavy steroids. Same blade material. The fun part is the blade grind (flat ground). It just cuts and cuts and cuts ... strop occasionally, then cuts some more. When the blade blunts hit it with the ceramics on the Sharpmaker; then it just keeps on cutting some more ... Well you get the idea ... :D
