I received my Manix in the mail yesterday. I won it on e-bay for $110 including shipping and yes it is brand new. :)

Anyway...I just want to report that its beginning to live up to all the hipe that everyone here gave it. Man does it fit my hand perfect! It came out of the box hair shaving sharp and I love the fact that you can switch the clip around.

Hopefully this weekend I can get it out and use it and take some pictures of it in action and post them here. I'm real happy so far with my purchase. Although, I was feeling guilty a few days before I received it. I started thinking, what am I thinking of spending $110 for a locking folder! I then started to think I might just turn it around and re-sell it on e-bay since it is brand new. Well, I hate to disappoint anyone here, but that AIN'T gonna happen now. As soon as I gripped it and flicked the blade open, I knew I had a keeper!

Look for a post of it in action this weekend!

Thanks to everyone that convinced me to buy it!

Hey Guys...

Mark....

Great knife...
I carry mine quite a bit...

Not something I would carry in ther bush because of the tip being so pointy, but for EDC,, it's awesome...

I've been carrying it for day hikes for the pass few weeks. I have a question someone who knows this better than me.

I've been using it to carve and cut our walking sticks for my g/f while we're hiking. The last inch of blade by the choil is getting a little dull, should I go ahead and sharpen the whole blade or should I give a little more attention to the duller part?

Thanks in advance and sorry for the threadjack.

Hey Guys..

Shelock....

I say sharpen it,, til it's all sharp,, and then keep it that way...

By the sounds of it,, this is the part of the knife you use quite a bit Eh!!

Just touch it up when you notice it getting dull...

A nice small folding DMT stone will make short work of that....

Thanks Eric, that's what I was thinking, but was hestiant in screwing with the factory edge as it's very sharp.

That's the part of the knife that I use most for all my outdoor knives. I only use the tip when I'm at work.

One more quick question, why would a pointy tip not good for a knife that will be used outside?

Hey Guys...

Sherlock...

No problem..

Yaa nothing worse than a dull knife...

Just do your best,, and if you have any questions head to the sharpening forum..
There are far more skilled people there who would be happy to help you...

I had a MiniManix for a short while but I sold it because I found it too heavy for EDC, it just weighed down my pants too much. But yes, it is by far, the sharpest folder I have experienced out of the box.

I went corporate with a new job and can't carry my beloved Manix anymore (sad times) but it waits for me on my dresser like a puppy. Waiting for the day when I go on a day hike and we can be reunited ; ).

Manix calls for you Chef I can hear his plaintive siren song clearly.

Great knife. I was a big fan of them, then I got my hands on the Byrd G10 Cara Cara. Seemed to do everything the Manix could for 1/4th the price and took up less pocket space while remaining highly ergonomic. I'd be extremely happy to have either with me in the woods though.
