Hi,

Will someone explain to me the difference between these knives other than the clear verses black ball bearing lock button color?

Thank You

Besides the color the ones with the black cage have skeletonized liners.

( i'm sure that in the beginning of the change there's a few that don't apply to the above)

I'm pretty sure the only difference is the color of the lock button and skeletonized liners.

Thanks Everyone,

The C101 Manix 2 has undergone some changes over the years, but if there was a prior "generation" of the C95 Manix 2 XL, it didn't last long. The 2013 catalog, where it first appeared, shows it as having a black ball cage and weighing 147 grams, exactly the same as in the 2015 catalog. AFAIK, the only earlier C95's were the original midlock versions.

I still would love to see that lock back version brought back for a sprint in Cruwear or M4 or something tough and wear resistant in that class. It is much more comfortable to me gripping it than the newer model. In hard use the newer version is less comfortable on the hand for me.Looking at the pictures makes it easy to see why. It represents the pinnacle of lock back design to me and will probably always be that way.
