Just picked up this knife this morning at my local shop, Edgeworks in Frederick, MD. Very lightweight, flips great and build quality is fantastic. Had a hard time chosing between the 1 and the 2 but I'm happy with my choice. I'll just have to pick up the 1 the next time i'm in there ;)

Lovely, I guess it will be some months before we see this in Europe if at all. This was by far the most interesting for me out of the 2016 lineup.

I'm interested in the Mantra 1, but the 2 certainly isn't shabby at all. Nice pick!!!

Hey, that's where I bought my first Spyderco back in 2003 when I lived there. Totally forgot about that place.

Really liking the design of the Mantra 2. Don't really like the look of the Mantra 1. Possibly something I'll consider picking up in the future.

Just ordered one today myself. I think it will become a favorite.

I really like both designs. And the M4 is just icing on an already purdy cake!

But...

The wire clip...whyyyyy?

I think the Mantras are a good value. I'm likely to pick one up, perhaps even before I get that Sage 2 I want.

The problem with ordering them is that lots of stores that had them last week, sold out and put their status back to pre-order, so there are people who didn't realize that they dropped in the first place. I noticed a few stores did the same thing with the HAP40 Delicas. There's no way to look at their site and see that they briefly had them in stock for a day. Probably more of a limitation with their computer systems than anything they did intentionally.

Phenn, Taichung Spydies with wire clips are to die for. You really like the solid clips? Never been a huge fan.

I've tried real hard to like them. Slysz Bowie, Techno, Sage, DF2, PITS, what have you. Just don't like how fragile they are, don't like the retention, and really don't like how much flex they have in-grip. And on the Ti models, don't like how they scratch the finish.

I don't hate them, and I can and have tolerated them, but they're still a big turn off. I have to like a knife in spite of them. But that's my personal taste.

Still. The Mantras do look like excellent knives!
