Just recieved my mantra. The lockstick is terrible. Worst of all my knives. I thought with stainless liners should not do this. Am I being too picky? Just feel when I spend this much on a knife it should be close to perfect.

Stainless liner has no relation to lock stick- it's an addition to appease those who believe that titanium will quickly wear away against a harder metal. If the stickiness persists for more than a week, you have a genuine problem. Otherwise, stop worrying. No knife comes with perfect action right out of the box- they have to wear in. Mine took about 3 days for the stick to start going away.

give it a drop of oil and work it, the stick should go away just about instantly and the two faces will set together smoothly in no time.

Thanks for the responses. I have been playing with it a lot the last 2 days. No improvement. Also tried the sharpie, pencil, and oil trick. Still no difference. Maybe it does need to go to spyderco?

perhaps, but I'd give it more time if I were you. it might just be a ever so slight protuberance on one of the faces. May not even be visible to the eye. It should smooth out, I'D clean clear the sharpie and pencil also. These tricks cannot provide a solution for a 200$ knife. Just keep it clean and oiled and it should be fine

I probably wouldn't have even lubed it first. I would have just continually used it to wear it in to mate the faces.
