To all:

If you are interested in a unique edged-weapon training experience, you might want to consider attending the first Spyderco Martial Blade Camp, to be held at the YMCA of the Rockies in Estes Park, CO 12-15 September 2003. As head instructor for Spyderco's Martial Blade Craft (MBC) program, I will be organizing the camp, which will feature hands-on instruction in techniques taken from all four levels of the MBC program, the complete Counter-Blade Craft (CBC) course, knife and tomahawk throwing for sport and self-defense, use of the ASP tactical baton, and a variety of other topics. The camp is open to first-timers and MBC alumni and includes hotel-quality lodging (double occupancy) at the YMCA facility, all meals, and three solid days of training in the beautiful Rocky Mountains.

For more infromation and registration details, please go to:

Thanks for your interest. I hope to see you in the Rockies in September.

Stay safe,

Ok you Spyderholics and MBCers..This sounds like the cool thing to do..
Mountains, fall weather and training with Mr Mike..
WOW....Sept 12-15??? that's 4 days with Mike and 3 solid days of training with Mike himself!!!!
For those of you that don't understand or know..Mike is one of the top knife instructors out there. ( As well as a top knife designer!!) He has an amazing grasp of concepts and more importantly how to teach them. Going to an event like this meands you will go home with usable knowledge..
a better understanding of what an edged tool is and more importantly how to not misuse it!( Yes..you will know how to use it..ROFL!)
Those of you that have already trained with Mike..no matter WHAT the level, should be there because Mike will take you to the NEXT level..Even if you are an "Adavanced knife guy"...

Plus Tomahawk. stick and other goodies..Yeow!

I hope you guys have a great time!!!!

be safe
Bram
