I have 2 Spyderco Matriarchs in my collection. I bought them for about $100.00 each. Anyone know what they are worth now or will be in the future.

Hard to say what the future worth will be. As for materials, nothing exotic or limited. I'd say they are worth about what you paid for them. I ended up getting a pair for what the retail cost was back when they came out. Very interesting knife to say the least, they have a great history.

I would be interested in buying one if you wanted to sell it for around what you payed for it if its plain edge, you can emai me, if you want to sell one
Actually, if you wanted to buy one, you should start a thread in the exchange, under the wnted to buy knives area. This is the wrong place for these solicitations.

Exactly. Please do not engage in buying/selling in a discussion forum!

Yeah the guys are right this isn't the place for market trading. We have a special section for that activity. I'm sure the Brother will understand :)

I've always preferred the Matriarch over the Civi and I do think if you have one of the original ATS-55 or VG-10 Matriarchs ( the first run models that is) you'll acrue a good return on your investment I'm sure of it. Barring a major breakdown in our economy of course

For a few other reasons I would like the Matriarch for collector/investment reasons over the Civilian. The Gray Matriarch for instance was a very limited production mainly made for the market in South Africa. And the first run VG-10 Matriarch model was in very limited production as well.

Personally if I were you and you wanted to get the most from them I would just put them up for trade rather than selling them. In the past I've usually done better on trades than I have selling collectible Spyders outright. I bet you would get some very nice offers.

The original matriarch increased slightly in price, until the newer release. Now, NIB, they hold close to their initial sale value. Many people prefer it to the civilian, myself included. It's easier to carry and conceal. W/o any future releases, they will probably rise in value since it appeals to buyers who collect or want it for self-defense.
