spyderco meercat with compression lock where to find???? cheap????

I don't think the Meerkat has a compression lock. It uses the Phantom lock.

I think that it has been discontinued, your only place to find one would be the secondary market. E-bay or the for sale forums on Bladeforums would be places to start.

Yeah, the meerkat never had a compression lock. They did a sprint run of it with blueish scales last year but if you are lucky you can track one down.

navigator for $40 is a great deal if new or in great shape esp since its discontinued. When in production a long time ago, msrp was between $80-90(street price a little more than half), maybe even a little more on the SS version. The meerkat is certainly a cooler knife though in my opinion but you will likely have to shell out $20-30 more when you find one, which you will, just keep your eyes peeled. Good luck.

The phantom lock is basically the back lock with the "bar" integrated as a handle scale.

i get it the phantom lock is just a liner lock at the top of the knife

That's actually what the Compression Lock is often called, although that is incorrect. The Compression Lock works on the same principle as the Axis Lock, but it uses a liner instead of a cylinder and springs.
